The Look and Sound of Cat Asthma

Our Veterinary Hospital sees many asthmatic kitties in Long Beach-- often mistaken for "vomiting hairballs". Often their X-rays will show "doughnuts" caused by thickened bronchial walls

It is critical for correct diagnosis for us to characterize whether our pets are coughing or vomiting, but cat symptoms can be quite a challenge to understand. This is why a recent video by National Geographic caught our attention- it unintentionally captured a large kitty in a paroxysm of coughing.

Please take a look and a good listen.

If your pet is doing something strange, please grab your cell phone and film the episode. It will make it much easier for us to figure out what they are doing.
